What kind of coiled tubing units do you have?

Leader owns and operates a lineup of 1¼”, 1½”, 1¾” and 2” Class III coiled tubing units for well servicing. They are self-contained and are H2S-compliant. Depth capacity on unit spools ranges from 1,800 to 4,400 metres, with additional depth capacity available from separate spools if required. All units are modern (no unit was over five years old as of late 2009) and were built to Leader specifications or were designed and built in-house at our Grande Prairie facility.

Where do you operate?

Leader provides services throughout the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, with a particular focus on the northwest Alberta/northeast B.C. gas-producing region. Our main equipment, service and manufacturing facility is in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and we have additional field facilities in Hinton, Alberta and Fort St. John, B.C. The Company is based in Calgary.

They know the exact capabilities of every major piece of Leader equipment. They know where it is, what it’s doing at any given time and when it will be available.

Are your safety standards up to date?

Absolutely. Leader prides itself on its thorough training programs and on its safety focus. In addition to holding our provincial Certificate of Recognition, we have the full suite of safety-related policies, manuals and association memberships that the largest industry customers require. Please see our Safety page for more detail.

How reliable is coil-conveyed perforating (CCP)?

CCP is extremely reliable. Since introducing CCP, we haven’t lost a single tool string downhole nor had to abandon a single well. We have helped customers to achieve successful completions and productivity in wells where competing systems failed. Each CCP job begins with a force simulation by Leader’s technical team. This software process enables us to plan the job’s equipment and materials to a high degree of reliability, such as exactly what kind of tubing we will need, whether we’ll need to bring particular downhole lubricants, and other important parameters.

Why should I go with coil-conveyed perforating?

Reliability, depth capacity, unique capabilities in deep horizontal completions and maximum chances of a productive well. CCP goes where wireline can’t, and offers advantages over open-hole perforating. Leader’s CCP adds up to the lowest technical risks, the greatest cost-effectiveness and the highest chances of a productive, profitable well.
