Coiled Conveyed Perforating

Coil-conveyed perforating (CCP) is an exclusive Leader-developed downhole tool and process technology that results in superior fracturing with optimized productivity. It is the most cost-effective solution for today’s deeper horizontal natural gas wells completed with multiple-stage hydraulic fracturing.
CCP is a single-stage solution that enables setting the plug, spotting acid and shooting all of the perforation intervals for a fracturing stage in a single coiled tubing run. CCP goes where wireline can’t, and is superior to open-hole perforating. Leader’s CCP is the only service of its kind in Canada.
This proprietary Leader technology provides numerous benefits, including:
- Oriented perforations running up to 36” into the target zone, setting up for more powerful, productive fracs placed in the direction desired by the producer;
- Optimized well productivity, a key benefit in today’s capital-intensive, high-impact horizontal gas wells;
- Exponentially reduced number of runs for a horizontal perforating job, reducing costs and typically cutting multiple days from the completion job;
- Reduced technical risks such as wellbore damage; and
- Reduced water sourcing and transportation, savings costs and providing a “greener” job.
Since its roll-out in late 2008, CCP has been successful in multiple deep horizontal applications – including where other approaches have failed! CCP optimizes the fracturing process and maximizes the chances of a productive well. It offers the potential for enhanced production because the results of cased-hole perforation enable the producer to achieve very intense fractures even with reduced fraccing weight.
CCP jobs generally take about one week. To date, Leader’s CCP system has not failed in plugging or perforating a single job, has not required abandoning a single tool string or led to failure or abandonment of a single well.
