In July 2016, LEADER ENERGY acquired a 70% interest in Leader Nam Tien Hydropower Joint Stock Company (“LNTH”) which owns a portfolio of five run-of-river hydropower stations in Lao Cai Province, Vietnam. The total capacity of the portfolio is gross 51.7MW. LEADER ENERGY supervises all of the operations & maintenance on a daily basis. The project capacities range from 4.9MW up to 18.7MW. Our hydro portfolio consists entirely of low intensity, run-of-river projects that produce zero air emissions and no adverse impact to local populations. The projects sell power under long-term PPAs signed with the State utility of Vietnam, EVN, under the “avoided cost tariff” program.
